I was introduced to the series "House M.D." by my sister, and liked the show instantly.. why? because I envy the fact that Dr. House is able to be as obnoxious as he feels like it to his patients and not get fired for it.. He might seemed mean most of the time but what he says is, most often than not, the cold hard truth.. He doesn't believe in sugar-coating the bitter truth, which I agrees wholeheartedly.. I am definitely not the person you would go to to get your ego stroked.. I would just "smack" you more by telling you things you might not want to hear at all..
And here are some of the things he said that were so politically incorrect but no less truthful... And I feel the same way about most of them too.. :p :p
It's a basic truth of the human condition that everybody lies. The only variable is about what. The weird thing about telling someone they're dying is it tends to focus their priorities. You find out what matters to them. What they're willing to die for. What they're willing to lie for.
Like I always say, there's no "I" in "team". There is a "me", though, if you jumble it up.
The notion of picking one time of year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.
If you can fake sincerity, you can fake pretty much anything.
You're not happy unless things are just right. Which means two things: you're a good boss, and you'll never be happy.
We are who people think we are.
There's an evolutionary imperative why we give a crap about our family and friends. And there's an evolutionary imperative why we don't give a crap about anybody else. If we loved all people indiscriminately, we couldn't function.
Do you notice how all the self-sacrificing women in history; Joan of Arc, Mother Theresa, can't think of any others; they all die alone. The men, on the other hand, get so much fuzz, it's crazy.
You got three choices in life: be good, get good or give up. You've gone for column D; why? The simple answer is: if you don't try, you can't fail. Are you really that simple?
Idiots are fun. No wonder every village wants one.
Silent and unhappy is better than vocal and unhelpful.
Someone's gonna be miserable sometime. Accept it. That's how I stay so happy.
People interest me. Conversations don't.
Judgments are never made in a vacuum.
